Abstract
The 2024-2027 Hardin County Health Improvement Plan includes a main priority regarding health behaviors; one strategy under this priority is creating an online wellness resource calendar. The county has rates of obesity above the state average, with 45% of county adults categorized as obese. Additionally, 24% of adults report no participation in physical activity or exercise in the past week. An online resource calendar, housed in a newly created Hardin County Wellness Website, will provide information about the eight dimensions of wellness and resources in Hardin County that support each dimension of wellness. The website is being created collaboratively with Ohio Northern University pharmacy and engineering students and will be maintained by a local organization, the Healthy Lifestyles Coalition.
To gain insight into community members’ opinions regarding the website, a survey will be distributed during the creation of the site to solicit feedback on proposed content. Information gathered through the survey will then be used in the creation of website content and flow. Social media, local agency partners, fliers, and traditional media will be leveraged to solicit survey completion and to raise awareness about the website, once it is completed. Additionally, once the site is live, visitors will be asked to complete a feedback survey to determine visitor demographics, where they heard about the website, value of resources accessed, and additional input about the site. Traffic analytics will also be used to further assess the website utility.
