Abstract
My capstone team has been tasked with designing and constructing a full-scale prototype for the Concrete Canoe Competition hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers. My honors enhancement focused on the mix design and materials testing aspects of this project. For the enhancement, I completed research and lab work to determine the effects of ASTM C260 air-entrainer on the properties (strength, air content, slump & density) of light and normal weight concrete. The findings will be beneficial as the team considers the addition of an air entertaining admixture in future mix design iterations.
