Abstract
This capstone enhancement reflects how academic experiences in the Honors Program and an industry internship with Marathon Petroleum Company contributed to professional readiness in construction management. Participation in the Honors Program established a strong foundation that will continue to support professional growth throughout a construction management career. The Honors projects highlighted in this enhancement include a Construction Estimating Databases slideshow, an Honors Contract Philosophy of Identity slideshow, and an essay Why Communication Is Important in Construction. Through this enhancement, each item will be broken down into how they can teach a lesson on leadership, communication, and professional behavior on the job site. Together, these components provide an indicator of how participation in the Honors Program and professional internship experiences can prepare a student for a successful career in construction management.
