Abstract
In my capstone project, our team was tasked with designing a bone cement shoulder spacer and a mold system to produce the spacer. Based on discussion with the client company, Stryker, multiple diameters of spacers exist on the market, though our capstone design is limited to a 9mm diameter variant. For my enhancement, I performed calculations detailing the viability of extending our design to additionally include a variant with a 7mm diameter shaft.
