Abstract
School vision screenings play a vital role in identifying potential eye issues early on, and ensuring that children receive necessary support for optimal learning and development. My project focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of vision screening programs within school districts surrounding Ohio Northern University and proposing possible improvements. Through outreach to school districts, current screening practices, including frequency, methods, and referral procedures were investigated and compared to established literature and state policies. Additionally, educational materials for teachers and parents were created to outline the significance of vision screenings and identify signs of visual impairment in children.
