Grace Ingledue was born on June 6, 1903 near Kenton, Ohio to William and Mary Ingledue. Ingledue attended Ohio Northern University from 1917-1922 where she was enrolled in the School of Expression, and was awarded diplomas as a Graduate in Expression (1920) and Bachelor of Oratory (1922), as well as a certificate of graduation from the Prepatory School (1922). After ONU, Ingledue received a Bachelor of Arts at Butler University, a Master of Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University.

In addition to being a professor at Louisiana State University and at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, Ingledue also performed as a reader, impersonator, actor, and radio station manager and show host (the latter for WFIN in Findlay, Ohio). Ingledue traveled extensively and constantly moved within the United States of America. During her life she was married to Howard M. Meyer in the 1920s and then later married Walter C. Barnhart in 1967. Ingledue passed away on March 9th, 1988.
